Short summaryEdit

Subaru and Teana enroll in the Fourth Ground Forces Academy and are put in the same room and training team. Despite a rocky start, they begin to build a mutual understanding. Fate requests Fern Corrado to include combat under AMF in the curriculum.

Long summaryEdit

The chapter opens with Subaru's flashback of the Coastal Airport 8 fire and the role the Three Aces played in its containment. Fast-forward to June 0072, where Subaru and Teana attend the Fourth Ground Forces Academy matriculation ceremony. They soon discover that they share room 32, meaning they are also training partners; the reason for this seems to be their unusual fighting styles, as well as the fact that both already have their own Devices. Subaru immediately takes a liking to Teana but she treats her harshly. During their first training session, Subaru gets too excited and overuses her strength, leading to low grades and cleaning duty for both her and Teana. Teana scolds her for not taking their training seriously but Subaru retorts that she does and Teana backs off.

Meanwhile, Fate and superintendent Fern Corrado discuss the new students, but are briefly interrupted by Shari, giving a tour around the Academy to Erio, who wants to join the Armed Forces. In light of recent Gadget Drone incidents, the Aerial Tactical Instructor Corps included combat under AMF conditions into their training curriculum, and Fate requests the same of Fern, but Fern is uncertain about how to do this without outlawed mass weaponry.
