Mariel Atenza (マリエル・アテンザ Marieru Atenza), commonly referred to as Mary (マリー Marī), is the head of the precision engineering section of the TSAB Main Branch Engineering Division, who appears briefly in A's and StrikerS and is mentioned in ViVid. She is named for the Mazda Atenza.

In A'sEdit

Mariel appears briefly in A's, reporting to Amy Limietta (whom she regards as a senpai) that Nanoha Takamachi's Raising Heart and Fate Testarossa's Bardiche are requesting the Belka-type cartridge system. After the main events of the series, she works on making a Device that Hayate Yagami can use.

In StrikerSEdit

Mariel is responsible for the maintenance of Nanoha and Fate's Devices, as well as for performing medical checkups on the Combat Cyborgs Subaru Nakajima and Ginga Nakajima.

She is mentioned briefly in the StrikerS manga as the one who conducts the examination of the very first Relic recovered by the Bureau. However, she never appears in the manga in person.

In Sound Stage XEdit

Mariel monitors Ixpellia towards the end of Sound Stage X, before the latter falls asleep and is moved to the Saint Church HQ.

Notably, she is the only character introduced before StrikerS, who appears in SSX.

In ViVidEdit

Mariel is the one who constructed Vivio Takamachi's Device, the Sacred Heart.
