Etymology
Edit
"Klarwind" means "Clear Wind" in German. Some translations render its name as "Klarer Wind", which means the same thing in proper German, but the official spelling is "Klarwind".[1]
Appearances
Edit
Klarwind is first introduced in the A's manga prologue, and is featured prominently in A's, StrikerS manga, and StrikerS, usually accompanying Shamal whenever she appears. However, as Shamal does not do much is StrikerS, neither does Klarwind.
Contrary to its classification, Klarwind does not bear a Cartridge System and is seldom used for direct combat, but can create portals, function as a mobile phone, and perform assist-type magics like healing allies.
In the Movie continuity, Klarwind first appears in The MOVIE 2nd A's.
Forms
Edit
| Form | Description | Appearances |
|---|---|---|
| Standby Form (待機フォルム) | Appears as four gold rings, hanging on Shamal's neck-chain. | A's (ep.3) — present |
| Ringeform (リンゲフォルム Ger. "Rings Form") | Klarwind's default form, appearing as four rings Shamal wears (two blue jewel rings on both index fingers and other two green jewel rings on both ring fingers). It can heal allies and detect enemies. | A's (ep.2) — present |
| Pendelform (ペンダルフォルム Ger. "Pendulum Form") | Appears as two pendulums which can create portals, find Linker Cores, and bind opponents. It can be used in close combat when necessary.[2] | A's (ep.2) — present |
Functions
Edit
| Upgrade | Description | Appearances |
|---|---|---|
| Interdimensional Communication (次元間通信 Jigenkan Tsūshin) | Sacrificing the spec for combats, Klarwind acquires the back-up function of Interdimensional Communication, which enables telepathy across different dimension spaces.[3] This is particularly useful for the Wolkenritter, when they collect Linker Cores in different spaces. | A's manga (ch.5) — present |
