Heimdall (ヘイムダル Heimudaru) is a wide-area attack spell cast by Hayate Yagami in Force. It is a two-part cold-based attack: first she draws seawater upwards and freezes it into a giant floating iceberg, then hurls it down on the target. After impact, the iceberg dissipates into snow to prevent the risk of a tsunami.[1] Since it deals physical damage, it is difficult for Eclipse to cancel. As Heimdall has a very large area of effect, an explicit authorization is required to cast it (like Hayate's other most powerful spells). It also places a heavy strain on Hayate's body.

The aria for Heimdall is "Tridents of Poseidon, gather from the sea! Sighs of the silver snow, come from yonder! Skein of surges, gather in the sky!" However, Heimdall Phalanx Shift instead uses "Mauls of silver, form a spear formation!"

NameEdit

Heimdall is a god from the Norse mythology.

Notable usesEdit

Hayate starts preparing the spell in chapter 11 and finally casts it against Esquad Hückebein in chapter 13. When Cypha of Hückebein breaks the iceberg into pieces, Hayate reforms it with Heimdall Phalanx Shift. However, the spell is interrupted when Hayate is stabbed by Curren Hückebein, causing the iceberg to shatter again.

VariationsEdit

Heimdall Phalanx Shift

Heimdall Phalanx Shift

Heimdall Phalanx Shift (ヘイムダル・ファランクスシフト Heimudaru Farankusu Shifuto) is a variation of the spell combined with Blaster System Level 3, which re-freezes pieces of ices around into multiple icebergs for even stronger attack.
